FAMILY THERAPIST
Alisha – Counsellor
I did my undergraduate studies in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counselling. I have experience in working with a diverse range of primary school and high school-aged children who have emotional, behavioural and social problems. My inspiration to become a counsellor stems from my personal experiences and the cultural stigma surrounding mental health. My goal is to equip clients with right tools to help them bounce back when facing challenges. I use a person-centred approach, utilising various therapeutic methods, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and art therapy. However, I always tailor the therapy to the individual needs of each client. I believe that therapy is most effective when clients build strong relationships with their families and understand each others needs, as this is where real change starts.
