Cherry brings extensive experience in healthcare, disability, and community services, with a strong record of leadership across hospitals, government, and disability sectors.
Her career began with Healthscope hospitals, where she worked in the Drug and Alcohol team managing intensive admissions, before moving into a leadership role as Team Leader in Outpatients, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and service operations.
Cherry went on to spend seven years with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), holding senior roles including Planner, Team Leader, and Assistant Director. In these positions, she was responsible for managing assistive technology requests, overseeing complex support needs, and leading intensive caseloads that included participants engaged with the justice system. She worked closely with Independent Support Teams, legal representatives, the Office of the Public Advocate, and managed matters before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT). As Assistant Director, she led a team of Team Leaders and facilitated learning circle sessions to build staff capability and sector knowledge.
Throughout her career, Cherry has consistently demonstrated a commitment to improving participant outcomes, driving service innovation, and leading teams with integrity and accountability.
As Director of Learn to Shine, Cherry is dedicated to supporting clients and their families to understand, navigate, and implement their plans effectively. She believes in a person-centred approach where every client’s success is a shared success, and is passionate about ensuring individuals are empowered to achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
